EXPLORE-AI’s partnership with Thames Water UK extended 

The ground-breaking consultancy agreement between EXPLORE-AI, a Cape Town based technology consulting company and British water utility Thames Water has been extended, with EXPLORE-AI confirmed as a preferred Data Science partner.  In 2019, EXPLORE-AI, the consulting division within the EXPLORE Group (which also houses the Explore Data Science Academy), was tasked with delivering the analytics involved in monitoring the water flow within Thames Water’s vast distribution piping network.

WeThinkCode_ to open campus in Durban 

Software programming training academy WeThinkCode has announced plans to open a campus in Durban this July.  The new facility will complement the school’s existing campuses in Johannesburg and Cape Town, and is part of an ambitious plan to double their student intake to 600 this year. This will give more South Africans the opportunity to join the digital world and help build the country’s technology skills capability.

WeThinkCode_ opens registrations for 2021

Think you have what it takes to be a software developer or programmer? Applications are now open for the 2021 WeThinkCode_ full-time, fully-sponsored two-year programming course. Three hundred places are available for the hotly demanded NQF-5 course, to be held at WeThinkCode_ campuses in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Each year WeThinkCode_ receives over 50 000 applications from young South Africans looking for a start in the growing technology sector, which is crying out for digital skills, particularly in the area of programming and software development.

According to Andy Searle, CEO of Business Process Enabling South Africa (BPESA), a non-profit organisation responsible for promoting South Africa as a services delivery destination,  these initiatives, along with several other factors, have favourably positioned the country as a global destination for outsourced projects.
